Reframing Ruin: A Prelude to the Bloomingdale

Presented By: Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail and The Trust for Public Land

Exhibited by the Center for Neighborhood Technology

at the CNT Energy location

1741 N. Western Avenue, Chicago

Running: February 28 - August 22, 2013

Reframing Ruin: A Prelude to the Bloomingdale Trail brought together both amateur and professional photographers who were inspired by the trail’s urban landscape. The exhibition allowed viewers to imagine the potential it can have for Chicago once completed. Artists shared their own interpretation of the future trail, its relationship to the diverse neighborhoods it cuts through, and how we currently interact with this stretch of land.

Reframing Ruin was curated by Shannon Bourne for the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival  in July 2011 which featured over 30 independently curated galleries in empty storefronts, along with numerous performers, musicians and vendors. The three-day festival was presented by I Am Logan Square  and Revolution Brewing Company . Special thanks to AnySquared Projects for coordinating the pop-galleries.
